Rights of Way:
Both lines take significant advantage of road median and road side rights of way, using some tunnels and bridges to get over obstacles. A segment of the south section of the Red line runs parallel to a freight railroad. The downtown segment is a free-fare transit mall restricted to public transportation and emergency vehicles.

Highway Median Section
The first half of the nortwest section of the Red line from Crowfoot to University is on the median  of a limited access highway, the Crowchild Trail.
Elevated Section
Both lines uses the Bow River bridge into the downtown section. The bridge has pedestrian walkway beneath the LRV level.

Station Design and Settings
The impressive Crowfoot station has pedetrian overpasses at the second floor level, and escalators, stairs, and an elevator to provide access down to the C-Train platform. The Fish Creek-Lacombe C-Train station was designed in the style of old-west Canadian stations, and it is next to the Canadian Pacific railway right of way.
